Family Tax Benefit Part B

An additional Centrelink payment targeted at single-parent families and single-income couple families. It provides extra support where one parent earns little or no income, on top of any Family Tax Benefit Part A entitlement, and phases out as the lower earner's income increases.

Unlike Part A, Part B is paid per family, not per child. Eligibility and rates depend on whether you are single or partnered, the age of your youngest child, and how income is split between earners. You generally cannot get Family Tax Benefit on the same days you receive government Paid Parental Leave - Canwi adjusts FTB when a Parental Leave event overlaps.

For how Canwi models Family Tax Benefits - including assumptions, limitations, and how Part A and Part B are calculated in your plan - see Family Tax Benefit (A/B) and Family Tax Benefits in the Canwi Help Center.
